Boni Khalwale Reveals 1 Thing President Uhuru Kenyatta Left Out in His State of The Nation Address

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale on Thursday divulged that President Uhuru Kenyatta failed to mention how his government intends to compensate the people who have in one way or another been offended or hurt by it.

Analyzing Wednesday's State of The Nation (SoTN) address on a morning breakfast show at Citizen TV, Khalwale noted that in as much as the Head of State apologised to Kenyans, he ought to have stated the consequences that would follow his apology.

The Ford Kenya Deputy Party leader exclaimed: "Having apologised, the president should have mentioned that, my (Uhuru) government is going to compensate the families affected during the post-election violence, and also allow Miguna Miguna to come back to the country."

Khalwale further declared that he had not accepted the apology issued by President Kenyatta while addressing Parliament.

He noted that the apology given did not have the touch of the president and 'looked like something just written for him by his team'.

Khalwale announced: "The apology would have worked really well if the president would not have used the occasion to just scratch the surface."

"If he really wanted to apologise, he should have specified to Kenyans the various issues for which he was requesting to be forgiven for. Issues like former IEBC ICT Commissioner Chris Msando's death, deportation of Miguna , how his police teargassed people picketing, and so on," Khalwale affirmed.

Speaking also during the interview, Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi stated that the president's apology affected the shift of the political scene in Kenya and will completely change how things have been done since the much contested August 2017 polls.

Wamatangi justified the apology as being 'genuine and self-driven'.

The legislator also noted that the President is not obliged to answer to any accusation nor issue apologies, something that he took upon himself and did it
