Kenyan Couples Paid Ksh1Million to Watch the Royal Wedding

Prominent Kenyans were among the select few who parted with Ksh1million to watch the live proceedings of the royal wedding between Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle which took place on May 19, 2018.

In an event sponsored by Samantha's Bridal in collaboration with other partners, the invited couples graced the event at the Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club.

Through their social media platforms, prominent Kenyans shared photos of themselves at the event. 

Posting on his Twitter platform, City lawyer Donald Kipkorir noted: "At the residence of British High Commissioner Nic Hailey & his lovely wife Carolina Cerruti celebrating the Royal Wedding Of Prince Harry & Meghan, Duke & Duchess Of Sussex... What a glorious day for us Monarchists ...God Bless the House of Windsor."

Chandaria Industries CEO, Darshan Chandaria, who is also one of the Lions in the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) sponsored television show (Lion's Den) also posted a picture of himself together with the British High Commissioner Nic Hailey at the event.

Other renowned individuals at the ceremony included Socialite Vera Sidika, Radio host Mwende Macharia, among other several entertainment artists.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Samantha's Bridal booking office had divulged that the event had a limited capacity of 50 people.

Award-winning The Lord Erroll gourmet restaurant was also offering a package to allow merrymakers a similar experience on the d-day.

"The Lord Erroll gourmet restaurant hosts High Tea to watch and celebrate the Royal Wedding," read the poster in part.

The restaurant conveyed that the event would cost Ksh6,000 per pair with a complimentary glass of wine.
