Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang' was among the first political leaders to convey their condolences to the family and the church.
"My condolences to the family and members of Maxwell SDA on the death of Church Head Pastor Vincent Okong'o.
"There is a heavy sense of loss, but the sense of hope is greater. Though we shed tears, we are comforted by the promise of 1 Thessalonians 4 13-18," he posted on Twitter.
Chief Justice David Maraga is a long-serving elder at the church where Pastor Okong'o was head overseer until his demise.
During his interview for the CJ position, the CJ stated that he is a staunch Adventist clarifying that it would then be difficult for him to hold hearings on a Saturday.
"It will be very difficult for me to sit on a Saturday to hear a case. I would rather talk with my colleagues in the court to accommodate me and exempt me from sitting if the hearing extends to a Saturday," he stated before the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) at the time.
