Boni Khalwale Issues Public Apology After Shaming Raila

Ford-Kenya deputy party leader Boni Khalwale was on Wednesday forced to issue a public apology following a retweet he posted implicating Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Dr Khalwale had tagged the former Prime Minister on a post where he mocked the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader for allegedly doing very little about the ongoing scandals.

He tweeted: "Honestly? You told us that, like Siamese twins, you and President Uhuru Kenyatta are conjoined by the handshake!

"You should therefore not be demanding but announcing to the country that you’ve dismissed these suspects. Stop the drama and fight corruption," Khalwale posted.

In his scathing tweet, Dr Khalwale attached a 2016 tweet from the former Prime Minister where the ODM leader had called for the immediate resignation of Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich, Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge and Accountant General Bernard Ndung'u.

Khalwale's tweet immediately got a myriad of reactions from his followers who had noted his embarrassing error in reacting to a post from January 2016.

One of his followers, @Nyamwanda quickly corrected the politician stating: "Perhaps @KBonimtetezi you may not have realized that you are reacting to a January 2016 tweet."

Other users who were less forgiving proposed to have the patron of the Bullfighters Association deported to Uganda or Tanzania over the oversight.

Dr Khalwale would only issue the apology after National Super Alliance (NASA) CEO Norman Magaya called him out on the statement.

Here are more reactions that were shared on Khalwale's tweet.
