Governor Hassan Joho Invites President Uhuru for a Tour in Mombasa

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on Thursday extended a rare invitation to President Uhuru Kenyatta

Speaking during his meeting with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Joho stated that in the spirit of handshakes, the President is now welcome to the Coastal region.

"Initially, we were skeptical of President Uhuru's visits to Mombasa. But now we are looking forward to his visits," the ODM deputy party leader mentioned.

Joho, who has been a harsh critic of the Jubilee administration, affirmed that Uhuru's visit to the region will assure the Coastal people that the handshake was not just focused on a select people.

The County boss highlighted these after his meeting with the KANU chairperson, who paid him a courtesy call in Mombasa.

Joho described his meeting with Moi as the continuation of the building bridges initiative.

The duo further announced that they would be touring the country together.

"The ethnic division is real in this country. Therefore, we will be talking matters inclusion, matters corruption and matters empowerment of our young people during our tours,” Joho declared.

The Joho-Moi meeting has since sparked speculations among different individuals across the political divide on a possible partnership in preparation for the 2022 election.

Joho's invitation came in hours after President Kenyatta led political leaders in a prayer breakfast that saw him offer apologies to the Opposition leaders.
