3 People Die From Electrocution in Nairobi's Ruaraka, Makongeni and Eastleigh Areas

Three people were electrocuted on Monday following a heavy downpour in Nairobi County.

The victims included a four-year-old boy and two men aged 31 and 44.

According to Nairobi County Commander Japheth Koome, the boy identified as Adrian Carlos Omondi touched a live hanging wire while playing in an open field in Makongeni area.

31-year-old Peter Kioko died after stepping on a live wire in Ruaka area while 44-year-old Ibrahim Abdirahman died in Eastleigh area.

Their bodies were transferred to the mortuary.

Residents within Nairobi have been complaining of live wires lying unattended, but officials from Kenya Power blame the incidents on illegal power connections.

Statistics by police officers revealed that up to two people die from electrocution weekly.
