Students Expose How Moi Girls Tried to Cover Up Rape Scandal

Information has emerged on how the administration of Moi Girls' High School, Nairobi allegedly attempted to silence students following a shocking rape incident that took place on Saturday night.

A section of students have claimed that teachers instructed 3 girls, 1 of whom had been raped and the other 2 attacked, not to talk about the incident in exchange for scholarships.

They claimed that a school assembly was first called 14 hours after the 2 am incident in which a man allegedly wearing a hoodie and shorts made his way to the dormitories and proceeded to rape and attack the girls.

A student told the press that they pleaded with the Matron and the school's administration to intervene but the blame was turned on them by the Principal Jael Muriithi.

"One of us has had her entire precious life deflowered. But it saddens that when we tried to raise our voice on the issues, the school said the affected girls were pretending.

"We were told that we should blame the ordeal on lesbianism," the girl is quoted as telling The Star.

Furthermore, the victims were instructed to shower immediately after the administration was informed.

The girl who was raped was also only taken to Nairobi Women's Hospital in Hurlingam at 7 am after the students demanded the same.

The security officials at the institutions were also accused of being under instructions to stay silent on the matter.

Murrithi sparked further furore when she appeared to blame students for not 'being their sister's keeper'.

The school has since been closed for a week.
