President Uhuru Kenyatta Releases Statement After Plane Crash in Aberdares

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday released a statement after the ten people on board the plane that crashed in Aberdares were confirmed dead.

In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Uhuru stated that he was saddened by the news of the crash. "My thoughts and prayers are with the families, in this moment of grief," he began.

The President condoled with the families of the departed assuring his government would support them during this period of grief.

"I pray that the families and friends of those we have lost may be granted the grace to endure this terrible loss. They will have every assistance my administration can offer, now and in the days to come," he promised.

Uhuru further stated that he would set up a probe to establish what went wrong in the flight.

"They can be sure that there will be a full review of our procedure so that we can all understand how this tragedy happened," he conveyed.

The Head of State thanked the team of rescuers who braved the elements in the Aberdares to recover the wreckage.

"Let me thank the search and rescue teams. Drawn from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, the Kenya Wildlife Service, the Kenya Air Force, the Red Cross, and elsewhere, they did everything they could. I am grateful for their service," Uhuru stated.

On Thursday, Transport Permanent Secretary Paul Maringa confirmed that there were no survivors found in the wreck of FlySax plane.

"Unfortunately there are no survivors from the Fly Sax 5Y-CAC Plane crash. We have notified the families," PS Maringa stated during a presser.
