Missing Plane FlySax Finally Located

The missing plane FlySax has finally been spotted South West of the Aberdares.

Confirming the location of the wreckage Transport Principal Secretary (PS) Paul Maringa stated that the government is set to issue a statement in the course of the day. 

On Wednesday morning, phone signals from the plane were located around the same area.

Speaking to journalists, Kenya Wildlife Services Assistant Director in charge of Mountain Areas Simon Gitau also noted that search operations were to be concentrated around Kinangop area.

Prior reports had indicated that the aerial hunt for the plane had been frustrated by bad weather experienced in the area.

On Tuesday evening Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCCA) Director-General Gilbert Kibe confirmed that the flight, registration number 5Y CAC, lost contact with the control tower at 5 pm.

Eight passengers and two crew members were on board when the plane operated by East African Safari Air Express went off the radar.

The plane was being flown by Captain Barbra Wangeci Kamau and her First Officer Jean Mureithi when it went missing.

The other eight passengers on board were Ahmed Ali AbdiKaraba Sailah Waweru Muiga, Khetia KishaniMatakasakarai ThamaniMatakatekei Paula, George Ngugi KinyuaPinuertorn Ronald, and Robinson Wafula.
