Uhuru Sends Home Fatuma Hersi and 14 Other Principal Secretaries

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday announced that he had laid off 15 principal secretaries with immediate effect.

The PSs were sent packing after the Head of State failed to re-appoint them to the position when he re-constituted his new cabinet.

Here is the full list of officials who have been sacked.

Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender - Mwanamaka Mabruki (Gender Affairs)

Treasury - Irungu Nyakera (Planning and Statistics)

Ministry of Education - Dr Dinah Jerotich Mwinzi (Vocational Training)

Ministry of ICT - Victor Kyalo

Ministry of Trade - Patrick Nduati (Industry and Enterprise Development) 

Ministry of Water - Prof Fred Segor (National Water Services)

Ministry of Labour and Social Security - Khadija Kassachoom (Labour)

Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage - Joe Okudo (Arts and Culture)

Ministry of ICT - Sammy Itemere (Broadcasting and Telecommunications)

Ministry of Trade - Ali Noor Ismail (Cooperatives)

Ministry of Lands - Aidah Munano (Housing and Urban Development) 

Ministry of Tourism - Fatuma Hersi

Ms Hersi received her official letter of dismissal on Thursday in which June 30 was outlined as her final day at the ministry.

"Your employment contract has been terminated forthwith.

"You will be paid your salary up to June 30, which will be your last working day," the letter from Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua outlined.
