Robert Korir Wants to Return Cap President Uhuru Gave Him During 2017 Campaigns

Robert Korir, a resident of Maili Tisa Area in Kajiado County now wants to return a cap President Uhuru Kenyatta gave him during the campaign period in 2017.

The Class six dropout explained that when he got the cap from the Head of State, it was an honour but noted that his life had not changed for the better after the brief interaction.

Korir (19) recalled vividly the day when the president toured Maili Tisa asking for votes. "Nikamwambia mimi ni Jubilee damu, Tuko Pamoja (I told him i am firmly in Jubilee) and that's when he gave me the cap," he conveyed.

The cap imprinted UK2017 was handed personally to Korir and he had high expectations including a visit to State House.

He explained that cap was a source of ridicule as area residents started teasing him asking him why he had not been offered a job or some capital to improve his life.

Korir narrated that having the cap made him a target for bullies who demand money from him since he got to meet the President.

"When I wear the cap, it has made me a target for people thinking I have money. They take the little I have forcefully.

"Wao wanakula nyama , mimi nameza mate juu walishinda (They are enjoying their victory while I am languishing in poverty)"

"Mbona umenisahau , naomba nikurudushie kofia yako (Why have you forgotten about me, I ask to return the cap).
