Reports indicate that school management acknowledged that a male teacher contracted by the Board of Management(BoM) was under investigations over sexual harassment.

Narok North Sub-County Education Director Samuel Sankale ordered the school to be closed to allow the investigators complete their probe into the incident.

The school administration, Parents, Teachers Association (PTA) representatives and area education officials held an hour-long crisis meeting.

On her part, the school Principal Rose Oteko indicated: "It is true that there was a sexual harassment case by a male teacher at the school.

"On Monday, our quality assurance officers started the investigations and I cannot pre-empt the progress of investigations," she concluded.

The principal further indicated that there were other underlying issues that might have provoked the students to walk out of the school.
