The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB) has announced that it will investigate the surgeon who performed the botched breast enlargement procedure that caused the death of one June Wanza.
According to the KMPDB boss Daniel Yumbya, they have requested the family of the deceased to file an official complaint with the board to help facilitate haste investigations on the issue.
He further noted that once the family files the complaint, they will try to resolve the matter within three months.
Speaking to the Star, Mr Yumbya noted: "Once a case has been lodged it takes three months. That is if it is a straightforward issue and the partners accept liability."

Additionally, the board expects the family to reveal the name of the surgeon who performed the first operation and the facility where it happened as he still remains a mystery.
Mr Yumbya also divulged that the board's legal team is yet to receive any complaint from the family or lawyers regarding the death of Ms Wanza.
"If we had all those details we would have launched our investigations immediately, but for now, we have to wait for the official complaint to be filed," the KMPDB boss affirmed.
According to regulations, if the surgeon who first operated on her is found culpable, the practicing license may be withdrawn.
On Tuesday evening, the family is noted to have declined to comment on the issue as they waited for postmortem results of the mother of three who passed on last week following complications that she developed after the surgery.
However, it is stated that the family requested for time to grieve before they make any move.
Wanza, who died at the Nairobi Hospital ICU where she was admitted after developing complications, will be buried on Saturday.
