President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday eulogized Migori Senator Ben Oluoch Okello as a true patriot who served the country with commitment and devotion.
In his message of condolence to the family and Migori County residents, President Kenyatta said it was unfortunate that the country had lost a great leader of our time.
The Head of State further lauded the deceased for being a peacemaker throughout his leadership journey.
“Indeed, Senator Okello was keen in uniting Kenyans that’s why when he joined politics it was easy for the people to elect him.

"They had seen his passion and zeal in providing leadership by espousing national values when he was a journalist,” stated the President.
He added that during his (Okello's) time as a journalist before joining politics, the late Senator propagated messages of peace, love and unity and he never shied from standing for what was right for the country.
Mr Okello, a former Ramogi and KBC radio presenter, passed on at a Nairobi hospital after a long battle with cancer.
The President assured the family and the people of Migori of his support at this difficult moment and prayed that God will give them comfort and fortitude to bear the loss.
NASA leader Raila Odinga also mourned Okello's death, noting he is irreplaceable.
"Mama @IdaOdinga and I are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Hon. Ben Oluoch Okello, the Senator for the County of Migori.
"Senator Okello’s death has robbed Migori County and the country of a self-made, humble leader with a promising career in politics
"It has also robbed the community of a broadcaster who stood out in the articulation of valuable issues like sports, culture and leadership.
"Nothing we do or say now can replace the gentle heart and humble determination that Ben displayed in public life," wrote Odinga.
