Nakuru County Commandant Hassan Barua confirmed that the injured were rushed to the Nakuru Level Five hospital where they are receiving treatment.

Police bosses in the area confirmed that the vehicle had 14 passengers on board from  Kaptagwani area. The wreckage of the car ferrying relatives from a funeral was towed to Elementaita Police Station.

Three children and eight adults are among those who were seriously injured in the accident. The hospital discharged two of the relatives at around 10 pm on Tuesday.

These bursts are mostly linked to failures arising from low-pressure tyres being subjected to speed.

When your tyres have low pressure, it means they do not keep their shape and given the excessive flexing when in motion, lots of heat and deformation occurs. This among other factors can cause punctures or even fatal bursts.
