An attempt by the infamous Wazir Benson Chacha Masubo to wow K24 Alfajiri presenter Ciru Muriuki has flopped.

Chacha who was recently freed on a Ksh 1million bond pending determination of a fraud case by the court made the advances through Ciru's social media account.

Referring to a screenshot of Chacha's message, Ciru exposed the advances to her fans: "Look who’s in my dms. I am not boarding!" she quipped.

The alleged con man and a former employee of the Ministry of Devolution came into the limelight after several legislators sought police intervention alleging that he was on a conning spree largely targeting the lawmakers.

In one instance, Chacha registered a mobile number in the name of Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege and impersonated her indicating that she was sick and needed urgent medical attention but was financially constrained.

Wazir managed to swindle several leaders including National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi who sent the impostor Ksh300,000.

Other victims included in his alleged conning tactics include Cabinet Secretaries Peter Munya, Eugene Wamalwa, Margaret Kobia and Sicily Kariuki.

Chacha is facing six counts of charges and the case is scheduled for hearing on August 6, 2018.
