A section of MPs is now calling for the ouster of National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and his Senate counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen.
Led by Tiaty legislator William Kamket, the leaders now want the two leaders to resign as House Majority leaders.
This is after the two appeared to oppose the recent directive by President Uhuru Kenyatta on a lifestyle audit order for all public officials in a bid to fight corruption.

A similar call has been voiced by Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu who accused the two of going against Uhuru's agenda in both Houses.
According to Ngunjiri, the two had demonstrated that they cannot drive the Big Four Agenda after going against the Head of State on matters to do with fighting corruption.
"We cannot have our Majority Leaders being the people who are being used to fight the president. They were given those positions to push the policies of the president," he quipped.
The MP who has been recently at loggerheads with Murkomen added "For example, when Kipchumba says that he has a problem with the lifestyle audit and then I ask myself… we expect him to be the one pushing the policy agendas of the president in the Senate… how is he going to push the policy on lifestyle audit if he doesn’t believe in it?" he posed.
He further accused leaders allied to DP William Ruto of engaging in a smear campaign by dragging his family into the sugar scandal in a plan to interfere with ongoing investigations.
Murkomen has in the past read mischief in the lifestyle audit directive terming it as biased to target certain individuals.

On his part, Duale has indicated that the lifestyle audit should stretch back to 1963 when the country gained independence, an apparent questioning of Uhuru's directive.
