Garissa Governor Ali Korane was on Wednesday accorded a grand entrance upon his arrival at Minnesota, United States.
The County boss, who is on an official tour, addressed thousands of members of the Kenya diaspora on their role on economic and political progress in Kenya.
Mr Korane has been attending the Africa Trade and Investment Global Summit (ATIGS) in Washington DC, US.
The Garissa boss was attending the summit alongside his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi.

The Jubilee governor exclaimed: "With my Kilifi County colleague Governor H.E Amason Kingi at the biennial Africa Trade & Investment Global Summit at Washington DC where I will deliver a speech tomorrow. In the meantime, I'll be meeting with Qatar Foundation officials and later paying a visit to our Kenya Embassy in Washington DC."
Posting on his social media, Korane noted: "I have on the sidelines of #ATIGS2018 in Washington DC, discussed partnerships with US African Development Foundation on matters of youth empowerment in Garissa County."
ATIGS is a prestigious biennial business conference and exhibition which is designed specifically to promote and facilitate international trade between Americas, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, UAE, with Africa.
The summit also facilitates foreign direct investment in Africa and provides a platform for businesses to expand into new markets.
The just-concluded summit, attended to by the governors, gathered key economic players from more than 70 countries including government delegations, high-profile African business leaders, project developers and international investors.
Mr Korane also announced that he met the leadership of the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) in Minneapolis, the US to discuss the status of the Ethiopian peace process.
