Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has conducted the first school elections at Makueni Boys High School.
Speaking on Saturday during the exercise, Makueni Returning Officer Ibrahim Guyo stated that they were doing the exercise at no cost.
"This is like a CSR exercise. The School being our County tallying Center we felt there was a need to give back to the school," Nguyo stated.

He noted that the form four students, who were not participating in the elections, had been trained to act as the polling clerks and presiding officers in the polls.
According to the School Principal Raphael Diwani, the school chose to partner with IEBC following previous complains by the students that the process wasn't fair.
"Initially a majority of the students felt that the teachers were imposing student leaders on them by manipulating the results and that why this year we felt that we should invite the independent body," commented Diwani.
The School Head also exclaimed that the process was meant to empower the students especially the form four students who are exiting school.
"You realize that some of these form four students who were trained to act as polling clerks and presiding officers will stand a better chance to work with IEBC in the coming general elections because they will have an experience," Diwani affirmed.
Explaining the process to the Star, the school principal revealed that the school supported the candidates in doing posters and other campaign materials so as to give them a level playfield.
The candidates, in the respective posts, were given three days to carry out their campaigns before election day.
The seats being contested for included, Students Council Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary General, Boarding Secretary, Games Secretary among others.
