Police Arrest Woman Over Sh100 Million Donation from President Uhuru

Police in Busia are investigating a woman for claiming to have been sent by President Kenyatta to a function attended by the area leaders.

A fundraising ceremony held at St Cecilia Nangina girls during the weekend turned into a dramatic scene after the woman told the gathering that the Head of State would donate Sh100 Million to the school.

The woman identified as Dorothy Ogolla Khaduyu had a letter which she claimed was from President Kenyatta.

Ms Khaduyu told area MP Oundo Mudenyo that her letter in her possession was from State House and that the President was aware she was at the event to represent him.

After reading the letter loud to an already excited crowd, the MP could not find things adding up given President Kenyatta had not been invited to the fundraiser.

He also wondered why the president had not reached out to Education CS Amina Mohammed, the Busia County Commissioner or at least himself to deliver the message on the intended donation.

The MP rang the county commissioner and CS Amina Mohammed, both of whom declined having any information regarding the letter and the donation pledge purported to have been from the president.

It is after making this confirmation that the MP asked the police to arrest Ms Khaduyu, whom he suspected was a con.

Khaduyu told the journalists at the event that she was the ‘Prime Minister and Secretary Of State’

“I am the Prime Minister of Kenya and Secretary of States in Nairobi. I came here to represent my boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta. He has a copy of the letter that has been read by the MP pledging that he will send Sh100 Million,” claimed Khaduyu.

She insisted that she was only doing her job and would not spend a minute in the cells should the authorities arrest her because the president would order for her immediate release.

She is being held at Funyula police station.

At the fundraiser, Funyula MP Oundo Mudenyo was the chief guest leading contributions towards the construction of a multipurpose hall at the school.
