An Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Member of the Kisumu County Assembly is receiving treatment at Mater Hospital in Nairobi following an accident on Thursday morning.
Kolwa Central MCA George Omondi Olwal was involved in the accident near the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 5:45 am along Mombasa Road.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke from Hospital, Olwal confirmed that he was heading to the airport to catch a flight back to Kisumu when the accident occurred.

“I am at Mater Hospital receiving treatment after the accident. We were just two in the car, it rolled several times. We were near JKIA area and luckily we were not injured badly,” stated Olwal.
Olwal has been in Nairobi for the last three days for official duties as the Kisumu County Assembly Planning, Industrialization and ICT committee chairperson.
The leader was expected in Kisumu for a planned meeting with residents where he was supposed to hand over completed projects before heading to Eldoret for another county function.
The U-turn on Mombasa road has been a notorious spot with several motorists' cars rolling over at the spot.
Trucks have had the most number of accidents in the area.
