Lamu East MP Heckled Over Unborn Baby Link to DP William Ruto

A member of parliament on Saturday angered a gathering attended by Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi for linking his wife’s pregnancy to the 2022 presidential race.

Daily Nation reports that Lamu East MP Shariff Alwy was heckled over the weekend for likening his unborn baby to Deputy President William Ruto.

“I have a wife and she is pregnant. I’m just waiting for the baby to be born and the baby is Mr Ruto,” stated Alwy.

Alwy and his Kisauni counterpart Ali Mbogo were reportedly jeered when they told Mudavadi that their candidate for the 2022 presidential polls is DP Ruto.

The leaders spoke in Matuga during the area MP Kassim Tandaza’s homecoming party attended by Musalia Mudavadi. Tandaza was elected on an ANC party ticket.

Mbogo found himself on the wrong side when he asked the ANC party leader to join the league of leaders backing DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambition.
The crowd largely comprising of ANC Women’s League heckled and silence the MPs.

Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi told off the DP Ruto allied legislators and castigated them for being swayed away by “small favours.”

“You are being fooled by a few kilometres of roads to support Ruto when our people are facing serious problems. I’m an old man and I must tell you the truth,” hit out Omar Mwinyi.

Mudavadi stated that he was keen on harnessing support for his 2022 presidential ambitions.

His visit to the area came at a time DP Ruto has made inroads at the coast winning support from opposition allied party elected leaders.
