Stopovers Obama is Expected to Make

Former U.S. President Barack Obama who is currently in Kenya will be headed to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) where he will board his private jet and leave for Kisumu.

After landing at the Kisumu International Airport the former US head of State who traces his roots to Kogelo will be received by Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o.

According to sources privy to his itinerary, Obama will then board a chopper to his father’s ancestral home in Kogelo, Siaya County.

Reports by Citizen TV revealed that Mama Sarah Obama will host her grandson to a private breakfast, after which the two will spend a few hours together.

Obama and his grandmother will then head to the Sauti Kuu Foundation where he is the chief guest at the launch of a youth sports center.

During the event, renowned Kenyan musician Eric Wainaina will be performing alongside the Ghetto Classics, a children’s music group from Korogocho, Nairobi.

Barack Obama will then leave Kogelo and head to South Africa where he will give a speech in honor of the late Nelson Mandela.

Dr. Auma Obama, the founder of Sauti Kuu Foundation, recently revealed that the opening of the facility is part of their father’s dream and a project that her brother Barack holds close to his heart.

“Sauti Kuu Foundation is a center of excellence for children. It has a library, a state of the art sports center and a vocational training place," Dr Auma stated.

"We are trying to change the mentality of people so that you realize you have options, opportunities and possibilities,” he added.
