Matiang'i Endorsed as Gusii Spokesperson

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has been endorsed for a new position after he was endorsed by 9 MPs as the Gusii Spokesman.

They indicated he has what it takes to objectively and successfully push for the interests of the community.

The legislators were speaking at Sironga SDA where they had accompanied Matiang'i to a fundraising ceremony.

The MPs from Nyamira and Kisii indicated that they were focused on having the communities agenda are catered for by the government.

The 9 legislators were Josh Nyamoko (North Mugirango), Vincent Kemosi (West Mugirango), Ben Momanyi (Borabu), Alfa Miruka (Bomachoge Chache), Richard Tong’i (Nyaribari Chache), Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba), Jimmy Angwenyi (Kitutu Chache North), Samuel Arama (Nakuru West) and Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira Women Rep).

“In the future reorganization in the government, we are planning to make exceptional demands as a united community in mind with Matiang'i in mind. We have him in the front and we should support him at all costs,” Nyamoko mentioned.

He also cited the arrest of Arama as a plan to gag him after he expressed his support to Matiang'i’s crackdown on sugar cartels.

The CS is set to fill the position previously held by former Cabinet Minister Simon Nyachae.

As a public servant, Matiang'i is not allowed to engage in politics but this endorsement has been translated as a move to propel him in politics.
