Kenyans React After Lulu Hassan Co-hosts News With Husband Rashid Abdalla

Citizen TV "power couple" Lulu Hassan and Rashid Abdalla on Sunday made their grand debut by co-anchoring Nipashe Wikendi for the first time.

The coupling of Lulu and Rashid was part of the Royal Media-owned station's relaunch termed as an "undeniable shake-up of the Kenyan media space".

The couple who are famed for their impeccable command of Swahili and their wealth of experience in their previous newscast roles did not disappoint on Nipashe Wikendi.

Following the taking over of the weekend Swahili news bulletins by the journalist couple, Kenyans took to social media applauding the great anchoring and apparent positive vibes between the two.

Elated, Lulu had welcomed Rashid "home" following his joining Citizen TV from NTV making the pairing of the couple a remarkable move in the Kenyan media scene.

Lulu could not hide her joy as she was all smiles throughout the entire newscast wowing the hearts of Kenyans.

Among the changes that Citizen TV has implemented include the scrapping off of Power Breakfast and Citizen Extra shows.

The new program line up will now feature two new programs DayBreak and Sema Na Citizen that will air from 6 to 10 am and from 11 to 2 pm respectively.
