Moses Kuria's Expensive Treat for Gor Mahia Fans

Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria accorded an expensive treat to Gor Mahia football club fans.

The Member of Parliament is said to have given Ksh2 million to K'Ogalo fans to cater for their travel expenses to Dar es Salaam ahead of this weekend’s game.

Gor Mahia's Organizing Secretary Judith Nyangi announced the news of Kuria's donation on social media to K'Ogalo fans.

The donation by the MP, who attended last weekend’s Mashemeji derby featuring Gor and their rivals AFC Leopards at Kasarani, will help hundreds of fans.

Nyangi, however, stopped short of explaining the criteria they will use to select fans who will attend the match in Tanzania.

The 14-hour one-way bus trip from Nairobi to Dar costs Ksh4,000 but Tanzanian laws prohibit public service vehicles from traveling at night.

Therefore, the fans could depart from Nairobi on Saturday morning and return on Monday.

During the Mashemeji derby, Kuria was spotted wearing the K’Ogalo jersey while seated next to the club patron Raila Odinga.

The Kenyan champions are set to face Tanzanian bigwigs Yanga in the return match of a Caf Confederation Cup tie at the National Stadium on Sunday.

Gor Mahia needs a win against Yanga, whom they beat 4-0 in Nairobi in the first leg, to enhance their chances of securing qualification to the quarterfinals of the continent’s second-tier club competition.
