Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Thursday offered a job to prominent city lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi who has been one of his fiercest critics.
In a reply tweet, the governor appreciated a compliment that had been issued by the lawyer and added that Ahmednasir is the perfect fit for his administration.
The lawyer had complimented Governor Sonko for a job well done in clearing garbage and planting flower beds in Nairobi's Eastleigh area.
"Good work Governor...keep it up..." the lawyer tweeted.

In response, Sonko stated: "Asante Wakili @ahmednasirlaw. I appreciate your compliment. I welcome you to support my admin because we need people like you to fight the faceless cartels at City Hall. Welcome on board."
The conversation between the two attracted a number of comments from the governor's followers who dubbed it the makings of a "major handshake".
One @FelixMugabe2 even went ahead to beseech the governor to give him the job instead, claiming that he had recently become jobless.
"Good work mheshimiwa (honourable)...if it's possible you can sincerely give me the job because am now jobless...tuko pamoja (we're together)," the tweet read.
Other followers of the governor were quick to point out some misgivings that could disqualify Ahmednasir from any post at the county administration.
"What about Boniface Mwangi comment on Bicycle lanes or a pedestrian walkway? Ahmednasir wouldn't support that coz he shoves cyclists off roads with his big Prado what about you Governor?" one user posted.
