Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Mombasa Hospital.
According to the Standard the ODM legislator was taken ill on Wednesday after she saw the body of her late brother, Jumaa Karisa.
The shock of the loss is believed to have overwhelmed Aisha to a point she was unable to attend the funeral of Karisa which took place on Thursday.

According to the publication, the late Karisa died in China after falling off a flat.
In her absence, Jumwa was represented by Kilifi Woman Rep Getrude Mbeyu and the Coast Parliamentary Group Chairman Suleiman Dori.
Addressing mourners, Mbeyu remarked that the legislator was devastated following the death of his brother.
“Jumwa is not feeling well and we apologize to the family on her behalf for not being with us today during the burial because the shock she got after receiving her brother’s body could not allow her to be here.
“The death of Jumaa shocked us and Aisha has been up and down since he was informed of the sad news until when his body arrived and I think all has not been well with Aisha who is now sick wherever she is,” Kilifi Woman Rep mentioned.
Mbeyu asked mourners to pray for them and that God gives the lawmaker strength in the trying times.
Jumwa did not also attend a Coast MPs meeting hosted by Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi on Saturday.
