Wanja came to the limelight during the burial ceremony of the late Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua in 2017 where she delivered a moving poem to the mourners.

Her poem was acclaimed as she confidently highlighted the achievements of the late Gachagua during the burial at Hiriga.

Among those present was President Uhuru Kenyatta whom Angel had the opportunity to chat with and even hugged.

"The president told me I have done well and he has encouraged me to continue with the same spirit," she told journalists after the ceremony.

At the time, Angel expressed her desire to dine with the president at State House and get a feel of the house on the hill.

"I'd like to go to State House and see how things look like and also have a chance to sit on the chairs so that I can feel how the president feels like when he is in there," she stated at the time.
