Murdered university student Sharon Otieno's family declared that the 26-year-old will not be buried soon.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Homa Bay Member of Parliament Peter Kaluma made it clear that no burial would take place until Ms Otieno’s assailants are apprehended.
During the autopsy of Ms Otieno, the family rejected lawyer Cliff Ombeta, turning him away from Rachuonyo Level Four Hospital where the postmortem was done.
Ombeta was there to represent the interests of Migori Governor Okoth Obado who is alleged to have had a relationship with the late Ms Otieno.
The bereaved family insisted that Sharon’s body is removed from Rachuonyo South Sub-County Hospital morgue in Oyugis and transferred to Kirindo mortuary.
They expressed that were uncomfortable with the body lying at the Rachuonyo South Sub-County Hospital morgue.
A crowd of about 100 people waiting to view the body at the mortuary was denied a chance.
The death of the Rongo University student was condemned from several quarters with the Government Spokesman Eric Kiraithe and Opposition leader Raila Odinga calling for a speedy probe.
Kiraithe further termed the abduction of Nation journalist Barrack Oduor and Ms Otieno as an attempted murder.
Oduor was abducted together with Ms Otieno on Monday evening but he managed to escape by jumping out of the moving vehicle.
Ms Otieno was reported missing and her body discovered two days later near Kodera Forest, Homa Bay County, two hours away from where she had been seen last.
