Search for 4 Linked to Sharon Otieno's Murder Intensifies in Nairobi

Detectives working round the clock in attempts to nab those who murdered Rongo University student Sharon Otieno are looking for four suspects believed to be hiding in Nairobi.

According to the Sunday Nation, those with the knowledge of the investigation revealed that the officers were closing in on the four suspects.

Two detectives drove to the lakeside city and collected passes Sharon and Nation journalist Barrack Oduor used to travel from Kisumu to Nairobi to meet Migori Governor Okoth Obado on August 24.

A detective was quoted stating: "We want to know who the two met in the city and if the meeting can be connected to the abduction and killing."

The sleuth stated that the investigations showed that the plan to kill the pair could have been hatched much earlier.

Notably, the Nairobi meeting is believed to have been organised by Governor Obado’s personal assistant Michael Oyamo and the two never met the Migori Governor on the planned date as the county boss was reportedly out of town.

"We are monitoring their communication before and after the Nairobi meeting. There could have been plans to commit the heinous crime against the two in Nairobi," a police officer stated.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet commented stating: “Investigations are progressing well. Some suspects have been arrested and taken to court. Be sure that justice will be done.”

Reports indicated that the sleuths have collected fingerprints from the clothes and other items the two had when they were seized.

Obado distanced himself from the murder on Wednesday but admitted to having had an affair with the 26-year-old university student.
