Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi lost two parcels of land after the National Lands Commission (NLC) revoked the title deeds.
This move was occasioned by complaints from the National Government, County Governments and members of the public according to a Gazette notice issued on Tuesday.
“When the order calls for revocation, the Chief Land Registrar is thereby directed to revoke as per Section 14(5) of the National Land Commission Act and attendant laws,” the notice reads.
Mudavadi lost Kakamega Municipality Block III/85 which was given to Kakamega Golf Course/Club and in Nairobi, he lost land registered LR No 209/13539/129 in what was cited as illegal allocation of public land reserved for County Government housing.
This countrywide nullification exercise also affected Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri amongst others who lost land to his County Government which was meant for the establishment of a Municipal Market.
151 people had their title deeds revoked as they had been allotted land at Karura Forest.
Most of those affected are landowners in Nairobi who included individuals and organisations such as politician John Njoroge, Mwiki Welfare Association and the Umagara Wiyonere Company Limited who lost all allocations for land LR 8649/4/2.
Magnet Ventures lost out when NLC cancelled the transfer of a prime land in Nairobi under L.R No. 21069 and reverted it to Majestic Security Systems Ltd and Mr Eric Naibei.
Fedha Estates Residents Association and Tassia Coffee Estate Limited had their allocation to Tassia Estate for Block 97/1736 cancelled and the title revoked.
In Eastleigh, all titles and/or Grants in favour of the parcel of Eastleigh market land issued to Ali Sheikh Mohammed and Farah Mohamed Barrow were also revoked.
Athi River Mining Cement Company Limited in Kilifi lost on the title for plot No 915 Kawala B to Abdulrahaman Omar Yunus Bashir with whom they were contesting it with.
Titles/Grants held by Alliance Hotels Limited were revoked in Kwale titled L.R KWALE GALU KINONDO 667, 668 AND 669.
