Governors Put NTV on the Spot Over Interview With Impostor

The Council of Governors (COG) have put NTV on the spot after hosting a guest who was purported to be the lead advisor of the county bosses.

The man identified as Engineer Charles Kalomba was hosted on Thursday on the morning show AM Live.

Kalomba was also introduced as the Secretary General of the Jua Kali sector.

In a press statement, the Council declared it doesn’t have such a position and neither has it hired a consultant in that capacity.

Speaking exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke, Head Communications officer Ruth Chitwa revealed that Kalomba last worked with the council in 2014 as a consultant form the Jua kali industry.

Since 2014, we have neither worked nor consulted him on any issue. The mere fact of alleging that is he is the lead is misleading,” she remarked.

CoG advised media house to go through its communication department before hosting guests who pose as to represent the council.

The council also called off a press briefing where the governors were to address the proposed county budgetary cut by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The Governors are holding a detailed meeting that will take longer than expected. We don’t want to keep journalists waiting,” Chitwa explained.

CoG Chairman Josphat Nanok mentioned that they would seek an audience with Uhuru on the same.
