President Uhuru Kenyatta Gazzette’s Governmental Vacancy Notice

President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced vacancies at the Public Service Commission for the chairperson and members’ positions.

In a Gazette notice number 9561 of September 17, 2018, the president appointed a committee of seven that will vet the applicants for the consideration of appointment to fill various posts.

The panellists who include state and non-state actors, took their oath of office presided over by principal magistrate Joseph Were at Harambee House in Nairobi.

These panellists include Kennedy W. Kihara, Muthoni Kimani, Dr Francis Owuor Owino, Rose Mwaura, Dorcas Kemunto, Gilda Odera and Mohammed Gabbow.

They were selected to represent the office of the president, that of the Attorney General, the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs and Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.

The other non-state appointees include one representative of Institute of Human Resource Management and another one from the Federation of Kenyan Employers.

The government spokesperson explained that the term of office of the current occupant is scheduled to end on January 8, 2019.

The panellists encouraged all suitably qualified Kenyans to apply for a chance to serve the nation.

The Committee is currently chaired by Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs Professor Margaret Kobia.
