Kiambu Chief Whip in Court After Being Conned Ksh4 Million

Kiambu Chief Whip Elijah Njoroge sought justice in the corridors of court after he was conned over Ksh4 million in a land deal.

A middle-aged man was on Friday arraigned before a Thika court over the alleged crime.

John Gaiti Muhoho was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Ann Maina facing five counts of pretending to be in a position to sell a parcel of land at Juja farm.

He was charged together with two other suspects; Samuel Wairegi Gathura and Patricia Wangui, who were not present in court.

The two had earlier been arraigned before another Thika court facing three charges each in the particular case.

The counts included; altering false documents, obtaining money with false pretence and forgery of land transfer documents.

They were also facing charges of conspiracy to obtain money using false pretence and false registration of title deed.

The court was told that the accused persons pretended to be in a position to sell a 3-acre piece of land to Njoroge in September 2017 at a cost of Ksh7 million.

Njoroge was reported to have paid Ksh4 million to one of the suspects but later realised he had been duped.

This comes after a Member of Parliament was conned  Ksh76 million in addition to a car and a piece of land by a group of scammers who have been claiming to have powers to double cash.
