CS Fred Matiangi Vows to End Road Accidents

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi has vowed to change the approach over the increased road accidents in the country.

Speaking during a fundraising in Nyamira County, the cabinet secretary reproached the current responses to the numerous accidents that are claiming many lives daily.

"We have to get a new approach to these issues because we have had enough apologies after the loss of our people," Stated Matiangi according to The Star.

He promised to form a new path in order to curb road carnage.

"We should not be having excuses when we get our people killed on the roads. It is now enough," he added.

He further noted that after the recent bus crash, no more lives should be lost on the road anymore.

The bus crash at Fort Tenan in Kericho, which was overloaded en route Western Kenya, claimed 56 lives including that of the driver.

The CS further promised that his Ministry will closely work with that of Transport to ensure that road safety is maintained countrywide.

The fundraising was aimed at raising funds to purchase Kenya National Union of Teacher’s bus.

He also assured locals that the exams will be handled well and will be free of cheating while acknowledging the reduced cases of cattle rustling.
