The new product allows you to not only download but update as many apps as possible, without consuming an existing bundle.
The pass can be accessed by dialing *544# and choosing the option named 'Unlimited Apps Download and Updates Pass.'
If you like trying out different apps on your phone, the plan will cost you Ksh20 for a day and Ksh100 for a month.
The service will go a long way in preventing the depletion of data bundles, that is occasioned by cell phones constantly updating their apps in the background.
Smartphones' storage has grown over time to accommodate apps that are large in size and developers update them as often as possible.
If you update apps regularly on a meager data plan, the experience is not pleasant since the activity consumes a lot of data.
This is another milestone from Safaricom as it seeks to give customers more control over their data consumption.
The telco has in the past introduced a data manager that allows your phone to automatically disable browsing using airtime when you deplete your bundles.
This service is also available using the short code *544#, under the option: My Data Manager.
