Jacque Maribe Narrates How Male Spy Was Locked in Her Cell

Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe has narrated how a male Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) spy was locked up with her in an all-female cell.

According to Citizen Digital, Maribe made the revelation through a sworn affidavit filed in court.

In her account, a man she identifies as Kennedy Kenneth Omondi was the only male occupant allowed to mingle freely and interact with female detainees at Gigiri Police Station.

"I suspect Omondi was planted by Chief Inspector Maxwell Otieno... to investigate and extract information.

"He probably thought I had something I was holding back whilst in fact I had disclosed everything," a section of the affidavit was quoted.

Other than breaking the gender rule, Maribe noted how the alleged spy was allowed to keep and use his phone.

Besides, K.K Omondi was allowed to keep his shoes on inside the police cell, unlike other detainees.

She further alleged that the man kept being brought food from Java Restaurant which he consistently offered despite the rules clearly spelling out that nobody is allowed to share food while in police detention.

Other than the special treatment, Maribe claims that Omondi kept asking her questions about the Monica Nyawira Kimani murder case.

"I was advised by other detainees and security personnel to be careful with him in view of his interest in my situation," Maribe reportedly recorded in the affidavit.

Omondi was booked in on Sunday, September 30, 2018, which was captured in the Gigiri Occurrence Book while Maribe had been arrested on Saturday night.

He was allegedly arrested on drug trafficking accusations on the night of September 29,2018 (2 am).

Maribe further noted that he was privy to police details including her arraignment at Kiambu Law Court on Monday, October 1, something she says she had no idea of then.

"He repeatedly asked me questions that were not in public domain including about the investigating officer, C. Insp. M. Otieno.

"And that his house in Kilimani was searched and set upside down while looking for drugs in a similar manner as mine at Royal Park," she added.

The sworn affidavit is part of her application to court seeking to be granted bail arguing that she had no motive to kill the deceased neither did she participate directly or indirectly.

Maribe was on Wednesday remanded at the Langata Women's Prison awaiting her bail application hearing on October 24, 2018, alongside the first accused and fiancé Joseph Irungu alias 'Jowie'.
