CS Echesa, Senator Malala in Bitter Exchange Over Visit to DP Ruto's House

The supremacy battles between Sports CS Rashid Echesa and Senator Cleophas Malala have reemerged over leaked details of their private visit to the deputy president's home.

CS Echesa in a recent interview at a local station claimed that the senator built his house in Mimimani, Kakamega town using money from DP Rutos pockets, claims Malala has vehemently dismissed.

Malala, who admits having accompanied Echesa to the DP' private home in Eldoret, stated that the visit had nothing to do with seeking help to build his palatial home. Malala told Kenyans.co.ke that he built the house in 2015, using his mortgage while serving as a Member of the Kakamega County Assembly.

The CS during the radio interview controversially claimed that in their first visit to the DP's Sugoi home, Malala appealed for help in building his house and was handed

"I took Malala to the Deputy President's house in Eldoret. He told the DP that he had no house and was still living at a rental house. He promised to look into the matter and later game me Ksh3 Million to help him build the house," revealed CS Echesa.

He stated that Senator Malala, then and MCA, started off construction works but later sent a text message to the Deputy President asking for more money and was awarded an additional Ksh2.5 Million for roofing.

He further recalled that they made yet another visit to the DP's home in Karen and was handed Ksh1 Million and another Ksh1.5 Million for the Senator who needed the funds to complete works on his house.

The CS was appearing at the station for an interview days after the Senator made remarks he deemed derogatory against DP Ruto at the send-off ceremony for victims of the Fort-Ternan road crash that claimed over 50 lives.

Senator Malala had discouraged Western leaders against supporting the deputy president, describing him as a corrupt leader.

"The CS is dragging politics into this matter. I have never received any money from the Deputy President. My house is worth over Ksh60 Million, and therefore you can not claim that giving me Ksh6 Million, you built a house for me," Senator Malala responded to the claims by CS Echesa.

He maintained that he would not tone done firing shots at the Deputy President, and would not be moved by critics to back DP Ruto's presidential ambitions for 2022.

Here is the video showing the contention between CS Echesa and Senator Malala.
