42 Brothers Gang Makes Return in Kakamega County, Kills One

One person has been killed and others injured by a fierce gang known as 42 Brothers since they made their return in Butere, Kakamega county.

Area residents held demonstrations to protest the return of the much-feared gang citing increased violence activities in the area for months now.

They also claimed that the gang had injured several other residents by removing parts of their body.

The residents further pointed out that some police officers posted in the area were involved in extra-judicial killings and have failed to identify the gang members.

They blamed the law enforcement for blatant neglect claiming that they had reported the incidences but no action had been taken.

Since their re-emergence earlier in the year, the gang is believed to be responsible for 12 deaths with several others seriously injured.

The murder style is so vicious that the bodies believed to have been murdered by the gang are left without eyes, tongues and private parts with throats slit.

The gang members are allegedly aged between 15 to 25 years and dump the victims close to their own homesteads.

In a recent incident, a woman was stabbed to death barely meters to the Butere regional police station.

Police officers are yet to identify members of the gang or make any arrests.
