President Uhuru Kenyatta Offers Kalonzo Peace Envoy Job

President Uhuru Kenyatta has cemented his good relationship with Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka during the burial of Mzee Peter Mairu on Friday.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Head of State stated that he preferred a peace envoy job for the Wiper leader, an offer - whose announcement - State House sources have reportedly confided to The Star is in the offing.

The president and other leaders from across the political divide had joined Kalonzo's family in their father's send-off at their rural home in Kitui County.

Once the appointment materializes, Kalonzo shall become Kenya's special envoy to mediate in conflicts locally as well as outside the country where President Kenyatta's administration may be required to intervene.

“My brother Kalonzo should help us to bring the country together and peace for all Kenyans and even internationally. Every leader has something to contribute. All we need is to give each other space and respect one another!” stated President Kenyatta in his address to mourners.

As evident in the Wiper leaders remarks, he is keen on an offer that would see him run the president's errands.

While DP Ruto describes himself as the President's 'mtu wa mkono', Kalonzo says he is now 'mtu wa mguu' for Uhuru.

"I want to announce today that I will never be able to repay Uhuru for the respect he has shown to me and my family. From today, let no one separate me and my brother Uhuru. I have accepted to take your assignments," Kalonzo admitted at the burial on Friday.

Kalonzo's father died at the Nairobi Hospital on October 29 aged 94. He was laid to rest at his Tseikuru home in Kitui County.
