Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru have finally settled their court differences.
Through a post on Twitter, the Governor revealed that she held a meeting with Odinga in which they settled an outstanding matter in court.
“Just had a meeting with former Prime Minister H.E Right Honorable @RailaOdinga on the outstanding matter in court,” She wrote.
“In the spirit of cohesion and reconciliation in the country, the matter stands settled,” continued the tweet.
On his part, the former Premier divulged that they had resolved to "let bygones be bygones" in the spirit of the March 9 handshake.
"Held a meeting with Governor Anne Waiguru and agreed to “let by-gones be by-gones” and leave the matter of the NYS scandal in the hands of investigators.
"She said her case against me is now settled in the spirit of reconciliation that the nation has embarked on," Raila wrote.
Waiguru filed a case in court claiming that Raila had defamed her for associating her with the loss of millions at the National Youth Service (NYS) while she was the Cabinet Secretary for Devolution.
Raila had demanded that a lifestyle audit be carried out on all suspects at the time including the Kirinyaga Governor.
Raila, through his lawyer Paul Mwangi, specifically wanted answers among other issues, her salary, allowances, list of properties and her financial worth.
Waiguru had also filed lawsuits against former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama for linking her to the lose of Ksh791 at NYS as well.
She claimed that they uttered words at a Cord rally that implied she was responsible for the embezzlement.
She further argued that her position in the scandal was that of a whistleblower maintaining she didn’t participate in the loot.
