Ben Kitili Slams Critics After Controversial Wedding

Popular KTN news anchor Ben Kitili responded to critics after his controversial wedding to his Somali fiancée Amina Mude on Friday.

Kitili hit back at the haters stating that he would live his wedding vows by protecting the wife of his youth with all that he had.

He also stated that he was ready to initiate legal intervention in case any offended parties would attempt to trample on their basic rights.

“To those who are not so receptive; it's your right as long as you dont [sic] cross the line..God is more important than religion,” wrote the journalist on social media.

He added, "To those who are not so welcoming we forgive you. You have a constitutional right to your opinion. However, should any of you cross the line against the law, like I said, I'll protect my family with my all."

The decision by Kitili's wife, a Muslim, to marry a Christian husband was frowned at by some staunch Islam faithful.

Some of the naysayers continued to rain on his parade by asking for him to convert to the Islamic religion.

“The Muslim population has every right to be concerned about Islamic issues happening in our country," claimed Abdkadir Mohammed.

He explained that as such, they had every right to condemn any act that violates the sharia which prohibits a Muslim woman from marrying a Christian man.

His close friends, however, vowed to keep supporting the newlyweds in their lifelong endeavour.

The primetime news host put aside their religious and cultural differences and tied the knot despite massive opposition from a section of the latter's Muslim community.

The two lovebirds were joined legally in wedlock at the Attorney General's office on November 16, and later invited their family members and close friends to a splendid wedding at Panari Hotel.
