Isaac Ruto Promises to Reunite DP William Ruto With Foes in Maize Scandal

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has made a new pledge to Deputy President William Ruto shortly after the latter offered him a job.

Speaking during a fundraising event by the DP, Isaac promised that he would reunite him with three other Rift Valley politicians he had fallen out with over the plight of maize farmers.

I will invite the three MPs to talk about this situation. I am very optimistic we will settle the stalemate once and for all,” stated the former governor explaining that it was time they stopped divisive politics.

Isaac further revealed that more fighting between the leaders, who were all from Rift Valley, would alter the bloc’s voting capacity.

DP Ruto was accused by the three of being behind the maize scandal that resulted in the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) paying out millions to brokers and not farmers, a majority of who are from Rift Valley region.

The three lawmakers included Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny, his Moiben counterpart Silas Tiren and that of Nandi Hills Alfred Keter.

Ruto, however, accused them of pursuing selfish agenda and politicising the issue, therefore, misleading the their own people.

The DP offered the former Bomet governor a job on Sunday revealing after the two had resolved their previous differences.

"I wish to tell you that Isaac will be engaged in regional and national politics and development as Bomet Governor Dr Joyce Laboso engages in local issues.” stated Ruto.

Previously, Isaac had joined NASA ahead of 2017 elections and vehemently campaigned against the Deputy President.
