Thugs Ransack, Spray Pesticide in Speaker's Office

Thugs on Wednesday night broke into Homa Bay County Assembly speaker Elizabeth Oyoo's office and sprayed pesticide.

Upon accessing her office the following morning, Oyoo was welcome by a poignant smell that caused some of her staff to experience difficulty in breathing.

Police officers conducted a forensic analysis of the chemical identifying it as Triatix- an ectoparasiticide for use in dips or as a spray for the control of ticks, mange and lice on cattle, sheep, goats, camels, pigs and dogs.

The pesticide is lethal and can kill within minutes if ingested.

Speaking to journalists, Oyoo faulted the security guards for failing to protect her office from the intruders.

“The assembly premises is surrounded by guards and police officers. I do not know why they don’t report destruction cases within the House,” she was quoted by the Nation.

The goons also broke plastic chairs and other furniture she had purchased barely days prior to the incident.

After accessing the damages, MCAs Richard Ogindo (Kwabwai Ward) and Nicholas Owaka (Kanyamwa Kosewe) claimed that the attack was an assassination attempt.

The embattled speaker has in the recent past claimed that her life was in danger after she was physically assaulted by a section of MCAs in an assembly session.

“When I was making an announcement, before I even finished, some MCAs came to where I was standing and started beating me up. The manner in which I was accosted, with some even wielding knives, shows that some of them had ulterior motives… specifically to kill me,” she disclosed.
