Traffic Disrupted in Nairobi by Mysterious Convoy

  • Road users trying to access the city from Mombasa Road witnessed scenes where the traffic was disrupted by a heavy security presence.

    The mystery guest was accorded a presidential escort from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to the Kempinski Hotel in Westlands.

    The motorcade that snaked through Uhuru highway and Waiyaki Way consisted of a set of luxury vehicles with part of the road cleared for the VIP.

    Journalists were barred from filming when the guest arrived at Kempinski.

    The guest will be unveiled on K24TV during Betty Kyallo's debut on the MediaMax-owned television station.

    Already, Twitter was abuzz with Kenyans speculating on who the guest could be with many names floated.

    News anchor Sam Njoroge revealed that the guest had recently been in South Africa.

    "Maybe it is Jay-Z and Beyonce," one user noted with another alluding to, "The self-proclaimed Dr. Prophet David Owuor."

    Staff from K24TV remained tightlipped on who the guest could be referring viewers to tune in to Betty's maiden show on the network.
