Governor Anne Waiguru, DPP Haji to Receive Uhuru's Jamhuri Day Awards

Governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru and Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji are among the people set to be honored on the 55th Jamhuri Day celebrations.

In the list shared by President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Kirinyaga County is set to receive the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (EGH) award while the DPP is set to receive the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS).

"This is a recognition of distinguished and outstanding services rendered to the nation in various capacities and responsibilities," Uhuru's statement reads.

Other people that the President is set to confer awards and honours under the EGH roll of honour Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, John Mbadi (Minority Leader), Wambora Martin Nyaga (Embu), Tunai Samuel Kuntai (Narok), Amoth Cornel Rasanga (Siaya) Nanok Josphat Koli (Turkana) and Eng. Alex Tolgos (Elgeyo Marakwet).

Besides, Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu), Dr. Alfred Mutua (Machakos), and Dr. Laboso Cherono Joyce (Bomet) will also receive the EGH award.

Others set to get top Jamhuri awards include Jimmy Angwenyi (Kitutu Chache North) who will be awarded the Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (MGH).

Under the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS), DCI director Kinoti George Maingi, Mbugua Edward Njoroge (International Organization for Standardization (ISO) President), Amb. Macharia Kamau, Ichungwah Anthony Kimani (Kikuyu), Gideon Moi Kipsiele Towett (Baringo), Chris Wamalwa (Kiminini), ODM's Agnes Zani and Sakaja Johnston Arthur (Nairobi) among others.

Under the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS), Muthaura Doreen Nkatha (Commissioner, Kenya Law Reform Commission (KLRC)), Col. Kiswaa Sankale John, Col. Wamwayi Samuel Ambani, Col. Wesonga Willy Sidwaka, Col. (Dr.) Rotich Silvano Kibiego, Col. Nchuurai Muthomi Maitima, Col. (Dr.) Kimata Patrick Mukui, Col. Minyori Julius Muthamia  and Col. Imboywa Christopher Lutomia among others.

Stephen Minugo Mwangi will be awarded Distinguished Conduct Order (DCO) (Posthumous),whereas Cpl. Magondu Edward, WO I Ngunjiri Serah Wambui, WO I Said Hamud Abdalla, WO I Abdi Hassan Mohamed will receive Distinguished Service Medal (DSM).
