Photos From President Uhuru's Jamhuri Day Luncheon at State House

President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta on Wednesday hosted Kenyans to a Jamhuri Day State Luncheon.

Shortly after the 55th Jamhuri celebrations at Nyayo Stadium, dignitaries and invited guests trooped to State House.

During the event, the President awarded 401 Kenyans for their distinguished service to the nation.

Among the Kenyans who received awards and honours were the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji and the Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti.

"This is a recognition of distinguished and outstanding services rendered to the nation in various capacities and responsibilities," a gazette notice by Uhuru read.

Photos shared by the State House showed Uhuru interacting with the citizens and also posing for photos with military officials.

Through their twitter handle, the DCI congratulated their boss, Kinoti, who was awarded the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear(CBS) for his distinguished and outstanding service to the nation.

"We congratulate him on this achievement and wish him the best as he steers the DCI to greater heights," the DCI handle tweeted.
