End of Year Party Goes Horribly Wrong

For most companies, services normally shut down during this time of the year, to allow their employees to proceed for the Christmas break.

As a matter of fact, most workplaces already have or are in the process of having some kind of function, mostly involving parties, to mark the end of the year in style.

This is usually the annual highlight, after a year-long hard work and as it were for five colleagues, they decided to indulge in the mandatory fun.

On Sunday, an end of year party turned tragic after five construction workers who had been celebrating at a bar within Elburgon town, Nakuru, suffered complications from the alcoholic drinks they had consumed.

It is reported that the men, aged between 25 and 45 years, all left the bar intoxicated at around 8 pm and headed to their respective homes.

According to a police report seen by Capital FM News, all the five construction workers fell unconscious upon arrival at their homes.

They were all rushed to Elburgon Sub District Hospital, where a clinical officer, Charles Mariga, confirmed to the police that he managed to stabilize four of them.

Unfortunately, one could not make it and was pronounced dead.

Nonetheless, the police stated that they had collected samples of the alcoholic drinks from the bar to aid in the investigations.

They further asserted that an autopsy would be conducted on the body to establish the real cause of death.
