African Union Envoy Raila Odinga has praised ten Chinese Professors for saving his daughter Rosemary Odinga’s life.
Appearing in an interview on Citizen TV, the opposition leader revealed that he had become hopeless after a three-month nightmare in South Africa and Israel in a bid to seek medical intervention.
He emotionally told of how a simple scan by Chinese technology led to successful diagnosis of her life threatening condition and set her on a recovery path.
“The therapist discovered that something was not adding up. So he took a scan and discovered that an aneurysm, which had burst, was recurring and there was another one next to it and a tumor,” stated Raila.
After the scan, the therapist then informed his family that her condition was an emergency and that she needed to be flown to China.
“They took two days examining, and before they decided that they do a three-in-one operation… about ten professors… and it lasted about ten hours. By the time they wheeled her out of the theatre, she was conscious and she could talk,” narrated Raila.
After the operation, Raila indicated that they took his daughter to ICU for three hours before discharging her to the general ward.
He remarked that it took only 12 days after the airlift for Rosemary to be flown back to Kenya while walking and talking.
Her illness heightened when, during his presidential campaign, she fainted and went to an eight-day comma forcing the family to airlift her to South Africa.
The condition left her partially blind as she revealed in her first public appearance since the surgery.
